<title>The Tarot and You Week 8</title>
<description>First, let me apologize for my long absence from the blog and the site. Things are finally getting a bit more routine (in a good way). This week’s cards are the *Eights*.

The Eights evaluate, organize, reason and communicate for their respective suits and elements. Their energy may lack the contentment of harmony, but they can restore symmetry and balance. The eights bring justice, karmic balancing or rebalancing, order and structure with the limitations and boundaries of those states.

*Eight of Wands*: The swift, raw energy of communication. This can come as negotiation and mediation for peace or can be combative and argumentative. This card can bring unexpected news, a determination for resolution through a fresh perspective or processing of new or old information. The Spirit (will) with its versatility and spontaneity directed in a specific direction.
This card is represented astrologically by the planet Mercury in the sign of Sagittarius, in which the idea or impulse is inspired to rise and expand to serving the highest good.
- Image: http://www.psychicsforhire.com/tarot_fullsize/wands08.jpg -

*Eight of Cups*: Resignation, renunciation, relinquishing control. Can also degrade into self-pity and depression. The Water of emotion as the passivity of hopelessness, but where we can also remove our ego-based desire for control and specific outcomes, and simply “allow” things to happen.
This card is represented astrologically by the planet Saturn in the sign of Pisces – murky waters weighed down by overwhelming responsibility and the burden of failure.
- Image: http://www.psychicsforhire.com/tarot_fullsize/cups08.jpg -

*Eight of Swords*: Intellectual and mental restlessness, interference and blockages, distraction and deadlock. This stalemate can give way to strategic, organized communication if the intellectual and mental consciousness are raised above confusion and chaos. The Air element as the force of turbulence, fragmentation and distraction but also the structure and organization of consciousness.
This card is represented astrologically by the planet Jupiter in the sign of Gemini – the desire for expansion but often in conflicting or contradictory directions; exaggerated thoughts delaying and distracting one from his/her higher objectives.
- Image: http://www.psychicsforhire.com/tarot_fullsize/swords08.jpg -

*Eight of Disks*: Recognition of and planning for the overview, the “big picture” - through the organization and ordering of details. Earth as the element of planned growth – of seed crops to ideas. Conscientious self-discipline applied to nature.
This card is represented astrologically by the Sun in the sign of Virgo – the warm, nurturing energy fertilizing and quickening the Virgin earth so that she bears fruit.

<title>The Tarot and You Week 7</title>
<description>This week’s cards are the Sevens.

The Sevens come forth to illuminate the motive for manifestation for their respective suits and elements. Again harmonious balance gives way to questioning and exploration as well as the disruption which naturally arises from the search for the underlying causes of creative action. The sevens dissolve and deconstruct.

*Seven of Wands*: The heroic dedication to challenge destiny. The Phoenix, who after surviving the burning away of the old, emerges to make a new and better beginning. It represents attack from a defensive position, gathering one’s individual courage to fight alone rather than relying on the protection and support of a group. The Spirit (will) as a resistance to external forces.
This card is represented astrologically by the planet Mars in the sign of Leo, in which the challenge to rise above ourselves through courage and daring. This also speaks to the times in life when it appears that even our very best efforts are not good enough.
- Image: http://www.psychicsforhire.com/tarot_fullsize/wands07.jpg -

*Seven of Cups*: Dissolving reality, disillusionment, flights of fancy and fantasy, retreat from the external world into the realm of dreams and imagination. Can also indicate intoxication and fleeing from reality. The Water of emotion as the well of creativity (the unconscious) or the dark depths of oblivion.
This card is represented astrologically by the planet Venus in the sign of Scorpio – seduction and lust, addiction to intoxicants of all kinds, but also a fertile womb for creative dreaming and fantasy.
- Image: http://www.psychicsforhire.com/tarot_fullsize/cups07.jpg -

*Seven of Swords*: Intellectual and mental fluctuation, craftiness, slyness and cunning. Contains the potential to root out self-deceit and also reveal the deceits of others. Air as the force of diplomacy, politics, “political correctness” and indirect dealing with conflict (passive aggression).
This card is represented astrologically by the Moon in the sign of Aquarius – inner doubts and indecision, the impulse to deceive one’s self or others, but also the ability to accept disappointment and turn knowledge to shrewd advantage.
- Image: http://www.psychicsforhire.com/tarot_fullsize/swords07.jpg -

*Seven of Disks*: Waiting – either as the patient wisdom to bide until the time is right or as stagnation, where effort and intent fall into inertia. Earth as the place where seed, shoot and mature plant can eventually be harvested, or earth as the symbol of the resting-place for the dead.
This card is represented astrologically by the planet Saturn in the sign of Taurus – the weight of responsibility and obligation imposing limits on fertility, security and abundance, much like the Winter when nothing can be done but wait in hope for the inevitable Spring.

<title>The Tarot and You Week 5</title>
<description>This week’s cards are the Fives.

The Fives challenge the order and structure of their respective elements previously created by the energy of the fours. Often viewed as negatively disruptive, they are more essentially the position where their suit and element get shaken out of complaceny, stagnation or stasis. They bring a period of cleansing, regeneration, strife or reassessment in events and situations. The fives affirm the equation “change equals stability” and keep energy flowing lest the solidification and stability of the fours degenerate into inertia.

*Five of Wands*: Misguided or misused creative energy, the restriction of creative energy, challenge, dispute, conflict. Revolution, evolution and contradiction arising to challenge old ideas, forms and structures. The Spirit (will) as a self-limiting force, but also the competitive influence of external forces. Fire functioning as a catalyst for change and as an opposing or correcting source of “heat”.
This card is represented astrologically by the planet Saturn in the sign of Leo, where the expansive, open-hearted pride and strong-willed application of force are tempered and limited by a sense of duty and responsibility.
- Image: http://www.psychicsforhire.com/tarot_fullsize/wands05.jpg -

*Five of Cups*: Disappointment, the cleansing and purification of negative emotions, despair, disenchantment, but an opportunity for renewed hope. Water as the purifier and regenerator.
This card is represented astrologically by the planet Mars in the sign of Scorpio – persistence, intensity and economy of action, attraction to an element of danger or risk, the ability to reinvent and regenerate after debilitating physical, emotional or spiritual loss or illness.
- Image: http://www.psychicsforhire.com/tarot_fullsize/cups05.jpg -

*Five of Swords*: Passive endurance of pain or suffering, deconstructive thought, reassessment, intellectual transcendancy over hardships as a growth and learning experience. Air as the force of inconstancy, passivity and avoidance.
This card is represented astrologically by the planet Venus in the sign of Aquarius – over-reliance on reason, diplomacy, peace at any price, and self-sacrifice.
- Image: http://www.psychicsforhire.com/tarot_fullsize/swords05.jpg -

*Five of Disks*: Destabilization and disruption of assets and resources, devaluation or loss of material goods by mismanagement or corruption. Earth as the testing ground for value and strength of the “fortress”.
This card is represented astrologically by the planet Mercury in the sign of Taurus – rigid inflexibility in attempting to maintain the status quo challenged by the energy of action, adaptability and ingenuity.

Releasing your inner child and trying a new adventure is the influence of The Fool. Letting loose your inhibitions and not being afraid of looking silly is sometimes a wonderful thing to do! It's time to try that one thing you have always wanted to do but were afraid. Talk to that person, get on a stage and sing, ask for that raise, stay up all night and play video games, walk around with your shirt untucked.. whatever it is GET OUT THERE AND DO IT!!
After all.. if you can't laugh at yourself, you are taking life too seriously!!

<title>The Card of the Day - 4 of Swords</title>
<description>4 of Swords

Now is not the time to fight when this card appears for you. It is time for you to retreat and rest while you watch things play out. You will have time to fight your battle another day. Chances are, there is information missing, or even incorrect. The only way to know this, is to take a step back, analize the situation, and make sure the fight will be worth the reward if you DO win.

I hope this helps!

Love to you,
